Spontaneous Combustion

Flames of the Phoenix

Emitted from a cold heart

That was once afire, then torn apart

Love is extinguished

The heat is steady

It smothers all else

No waterfalls or fountains can help

Raindrops leaking, drowned by this bevy

Despite being immersed by the flood

The torch still burns bright

Blue flame, red flame; heating the watery night

Whose name said brings fire? Just love

What keeps you warm yet burns so bad?

What makes you smile?

What makes you sad?

Only one thing burns the bush and the heart

The answers been love from the very start.

Fuck love.

It burns.
