Do you ever wish you had parents?
Just someone to say it’s okay
So you could sleep easy
And imagine all problems would perish

People to have your back when life gets tough
To tell you you’ll make it through
Or that everyone makes mistakes
Instead of feeling like you gotta carry all this stuff

On your back like atlas
The worlds weight on your shoulders
Till you walk with a hunch
And chips on shoulders are like boulders

Too big to dust off
Too heavy to lift
Too sad to imagine
Life without parents

Yet it happens, and I’ve lived it
No support system visible
No one to correct you when you wrong
No one to tell you that time is critical

Because it fades and runs out
Sands of life stripped thin
I need a genie or a wand
So I could wish for this to end
